Kadre's Journey

My quest to find shaman in Second Life was a humble one. I journeyed across many lands and had many conversations with a plethora of religious and spiritual individuals. I started my journey by speaking with individuals from the Unitarian Universalist Church of Second Life. While they were wise in many ways - they were very hesistant to approach the issue of shamanism. I decided consider the Unitarians a dead end in my shaman search.

Using the in-game search function I was able to uncover an alternative spiritual sanctuary called the "E Spiritus Pyramid". Though the land was empty when I arrived I could tell it was frequently inhabited.  I searched for the lands owner (Mayabutterfly Sands) and dropped her a message.  Later that night she responded and we met up in-game.  When I arrived at the pyramid again Mayabutterfly was in a tarot card reading with a client.  After a brief wait the reading was over and we got to talking.  She described herself as a person interested in the spiritual world but would consider herself a "shaman" as she had no formal shamanistic training.  However, she referred me to a great Second Life group which had listings of shamans and spiritual events. She also referred me directly to several real-life shamans who spent< time in Second Life.

Starrose Merlin was perhaps the only real shaman I found in this journey. Though my interaction with her was brief I could tell she was wise and cordial. She was also well connected. Several leads pointed me to Starrose. Even another Shaman Search group member found Starrose in their own personal journey.
